Sodium

A lot of people don't realize just how much sodium they're consuming because they equate it with salty foods.

Sodium is commonlty used to preserve foods so you can get heavy doses of it in canned goods, frozen dinners and other pre-packaged foods. Too much sodium can cause a multitude of heart problems and create other health risks.

For the average, healthy person on a 2,000 calorie a day diet, should only consume 2300 milligrams or less a day. Of course this number will vary depending on your situation (weight loss, maintain weight, high blood pressure, etc.)
